Living in Alabama we rarely see snow. When we do see snow it's not usually very much. Today was supposed to be a real good snow day. The schools closings were posted a day in advance along with Birmingham's 3 salt trucks all fired up ! lol

Well, we didnt end up with anything more than some flurries here at my house and most other places also. We have lost faith in our beloved weather man and feel cheated. So much for my snow flake pillow case, snow flake bear beannie baby, and for the ornament i created in honor of our snow day.....that never was, all of which were my lucky snow charms haha.

The ornament came from the Christmas Ornaments 2008 issue of Just Cross Stitch, by: Casey Buonaugurio Designs and is called, "Let It Snow".

Instead of snow we had one more child go to the orthodontist today and get set up for braces which will be applied Monday and i went to the dr. for a thyroid check up and a check on my blood pressure which i thought was high. turns out my symptoms indicated i had a migraine. wow.

Maybe next Christmas when the tree is up and this little guy is hanging there, fond memories of today will come back to me. Seems i can remember a lot of things from the pieces i stitch. That is comforting because i have not had the greatest memory.

Humm, cross stitch as a journal created in stitches instead of written words. what a concept.

I will post the finished stitching tomorrow.

The new project for 2010 Christmas i underway! I'll be creating tons of minis this year for the tree next year and this is the first update on the progress. Project: "Noel", by Barbara Sestok, from the Cross Stitch Ornaments issue of Cross Stitch & Needle Work magazine, dated 1996. Posted is a picture from the magazine of the finished ornament and a picture of my WIP.
Here is a piece finished on Christmas day. I did get one for the tree this year after all!! It is from a leaflet dated 1994 through the American School of Needlework, by Sam Hawkins, Leaflet number 3646, title: 50 Cross Stitch Christmas. They are all minis. I am not very good at finishing but thought it turned out well enough.
